Piper Cub L-H fabric no. 44-79741

I won't be writing about what kind of destination those planes had in Poland, because they were being used mostly for everything: for teaching how to fly, or sanitary aviation and agriculture.
The plane that I was fixing has the fabric number 44-79741. After repairs it was registered in 1947 under SP-AFY signs.

Piper-Cub SP-AFY changed into a waterplane

My plane as the only one from Pipers was changed into a waterplane and was flying like that for a long time probably. Unfortunately in 1953-1955 years in terms of "pseudo" standarization and equipping all of the flying clubs in CSS-13 planes Pipers started being destroyed, even the ones who were still fresh after the repairs.

State better than good=)

Two Pipers were saved by Paweł Zołotow. One of them SP-AFY was bought from Zołotow by a club from Lublin. After changing the owner it got SP-AMH signs. It was flying there until the year 1977. Then the plane wasn't flying until 1990, when after changing the owner once again and making the needed repairs the plane flew from Wolin Island to Szczeciński Flying Club's airport.

Everything's brand new and not used yet

The plane was re-registered under SP-FPA signs. It was flying in Szczecin until the end of year 1990, unfortunately problems with the engine caused it to stay on the ground once again. While being in zczecin once, I got interested in that plane, especially because the renewed Marek Masalski's one was already flying and was catching lots of attention.

And that was when my adventure with this plane began.
I had to put almost the whole plane in pieces to check its technical state and it was better than I expected.
I had to put everything in pieces and check on it.

Then the plane was starting to get a little bigger than before:). It was covered with Ceconite and painted in white. Right now The plane is in the final stadium of repairs and I don't have much more to add.
If only I finish the story of this plane I'm going to post in on this website.
I reserved the signs that the plane got in Poland at first, it means SP-AFY.

Ps.: Thanks to all the people who helped me with mt Piper Cub, and to those who helped me with the works connected with the reconstruction of that plane.
I really want to thank my friend Czarek Larsen from USA, who helped me with buying and getting all the pieces I needed to complete the plane and he helped me to get the A75 engine and a propeller.
